you could use Autofilter in your original table (Data - Filter - Autofilter). This way you would not have to copy the data at all, but just filter on the fly.

I am using MS Excel 2008 and cannot find the auto filter function. All I have is the filter Icon and then i can choose "custom filter" but no Autofilter.
