    Months in the given dates

    Hi,

I have been gone for a while and now i forgot excel. Need the solution or hint for my little problem.

    ok. here is it.

I have this period of dates:

28 August 2009 to 12 October 2009. Is there a way that excel may give me the months included in the above period.

    The result should give me
    August
    September
    October.

Thanks in advance. Hope i explained it well...

There are many ways to do this ....

    1. Write below formula in Cell B1 and copy it on other column.
    =TEXT(A1,"mmmm")
But make sure you have enter date in A column

    2. In Cells having Date value go in Format-->Cell-->Number---> Custom and in Type bar write "MMMM". All dates will be shown as Months.

Re: Months in the given dates

How about: A1 and A2 are dates.... in B1 put =month(A1) and in B2 =IF(MONTH($A$2)-B1<1;"";B1+1) (and for B3,4,5 to 12)

Edit: However.. it works only if month of the second number is greater then month in first number

Edit: Sorry, not working... IT gives numbers, not month :-S
