Mysterious problem. Custom functions not appearing in created workbooks.

I'm experiencing a problem in Excel 2010. I recently went into a workbook I created and decided to write a custom function for doing something basic. Just one line of code. But the strange thing is...when I try to use the function I just made in the workbook I had saved...it doesn't appear on the list of functions when I enter the syntax code and I get the "name?" error.

But when I open a new unused workbook and then try the function I just created...it appears as one of the functions I can use. I'm using Excel 2010 and I installed Office 2007 Service Pack 3 yesterday. Is this a problem anyone else is seeing? Is there something I can do to get the code I created to appear in the created workbooks I had already made? I saved the function in the personal.xlsb workbook to be available whenever I decide to use the function. But for some reason...it's only appearing in unsaved workbooks and not the saved ones.

I'm mystified by this one. Am I doing something wrong?

Further information: Apparently the code I create is only visible when I unhide the personal macro book. But I don't think I've ever needed to do that in order to use the code I created before?! Has anybody else experienced this issue? When I try entering the code in the unsaved workbook it doesn't appear. It only appears in the personal macro workbook. Something doesn't smell right here. Another thing I've noticed...when I enter the "=" sign to start a function...I see the word "EXACT" in the name box.

I think some add on is suddenly causing my Excel program to screw up. I'm forced to unload the addons I have. I'll post back any other issues after I do this.

Edit: I figured out what the problem was. I had forgotten I have to either declare the functions by saving the workbooks as an XLA and have Excel load the workbook as an add in or I have to save them in separate workbooks and then open them so Excel can read the functions as I work on my other workbooks. I had gotten lazy that I forgot that custom functions don't just appear out of thin air after make them. For them to work in new workbooks they must be declared as an add in or opened up using a separate sheet.
