    creating dependent cells...

    hello,

    i have two columns with correlating data. i created a validation drop down list and would like the corresponding number to populate a cell based on the drop down list selection. i.e

    A1 A2
    team 24
    team 1 25

    and so on. there are 40+ rows in each column. thanks...

    Use Vlookup()

    e.g. =Vlookup(A1,$X$1:$Z$100,2,0)

    where A1 contains the data validation list selection and X1:Z100 contains your table of values and corresponding numbers.
    Where there is a will there are many ways.
