Assigning job codes into corresponding job code groups

Hi there - I have a question about excel, and am hoping maybe someone here can help steer me in the right direction.

Lets say I have two sets of data:

Set 1 has a persons name and job code

Set 2 has job codes that match those in set one, but also contains groupings of the job codes into job group codes

For the first set of data, I'd like to know if excel can analyze each job code value in Set 1 and populate the corresponding job group code in a new row.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!!
