    "Relative Reference Issue"

    Hi everyone.
I'm stumped, and I'm sure its a simple fix, but I can't figure it out.

I can get this formula work running down a page =IF(COUNTIF(C9:C14,"x")=ROWS(C9:C14),"Complete","Not Complete")

    but

It does not work running across,
    =IF(COUNTIF(C9:G9,"x")=ROWS(C9:G9),"Complete","Not Complete")

    What am I missing???
    So frustrating!!!!

Firstly, please rephrase your Q to something meaningful related to your question - perhaps "Relative Reference Issue"

Secondly, ROWS(C9:G9) will always be 1 as there is one row in the range... it strikes me you want to perhaps think about switching to COLUMNS or rewriting:

    =IF(COUNTIF(C9:G9,"<>x"),"Not ","")&"Complete"
