keeping sorting capabilities when protecting worksheet

Hi everybody,

I protected an entire worksheet via TOOLS/PROTECTION/allow all users to select unlocked cells & sort. Also, I kept many columns unprotected via FORMAT/CELLS/PROTECTION/UNLOCK.

However, the already implemented sorting capability via DATA/LIST/CREATE LIST is eliminated when I protect the sheet.

So, does anybody know how to do the above steps but in a way that sorting will continue to function ????

Otherwise....if not possible with the above steps.....what do you propose to do ????
