    Question about Conditional Formatting

    Hello,

I need help with conditional formatting. I need to be able to change the color of a cell based on information in another cell. For example if A1 = Yes A2 is red, If A1 = No A2 is green.

    How can I do this?

    Thanks!

    Re: Question about Conditional Formatting

Highlight cell A2 and open the conditional format screen.

    Condition1: Formula Is: =A1="yes"

    ...and set the red color

    Add>>

    Condition2: Formula Is: =A1="no"

    ...and set the green color

    Re: Question about Conditional Formatting

Hmmm, I have content in cell A2 that I want to keep there. I just want to change the background color in cell A2 but leave the content that is there. How do I do that?

    Re: Question about Conditional Formatting

Follow the instructions in post #2. Do not change the cell content. Format > Conditional Formatting....etc.
