Change page field in pivot table without VBA?

Is there any way how you can change value in page field in pivot table using formulas? I know this can be done with couple of lines of VBA, but I need to create VBA-free excel file.

You can type directly into the field but when you try using a formula you will get this warning.

"Can not enter a formula for an item or field name in a pivot table report."

Which I guess means the answer is no.

You are right, I was thinking whether there are some other ways. I have all the data (source for pivot table) on one sheet. I can use formulas to put flag only to those records I would like to use. Then the question is whether there is some formula that can force the recalculation of the pivot table.

I can't think of a way to refresh the pivot table using only formula.

I solved the issue. It is not nice solution, but working. The problem is that user needs to input parameters (page fields) in sheet A, but the pivot table is in sheet B. I created pivot chart in sheet A and resized it - now you can see only top left corner from the pivot chart. )
