Moving rows to anoter worksheet based on certain criteria

    Please can anyone help?

I have little experience of excel and absolutely no macro knowledge

I have an excel workbook with 5 sheets, the first called 'data drop sheet' & the others called 'Louise', 'Thor', 'Peter' & 'Steve'

In the data drop sheet, the first row is header data and underneath (A2 onwards) are rows of data that I have cut & pasted in

The first column (A) of this data will be the person's name, e.g. Louise Wilson

I want to be able to move the rows for each person to their respective sheets, starting from row 2 as the first is a header

So, for example, if 'data drop sheet' cell A2 says Steve Brady, I want it to copy the whole line to sheet 'Steve' row 2 etc.

    hank you in advance

If you can post a sample sheet with a few entries and all 4 sheets with the sheets labled as you want them it might be a bit easier.

Put all the headings that you wish for each sheet

The attached spreadsheet should show what you are looking for.

Make sure thatfor each seperate employee sheet that the formulas for each column is dragged down to the number of rows you have in the data drop sheet. It wont be a problem if you drag it down further but will show up as #N/A for any row > than in data drop sheet.

If you are creating more sheets for other people then i suggest you right click on sheet tab and select move/copy.

Check the create copy box and make a copy of Louise. Then for A2 change the name to the employee name in the formula, then drag across to the right and then down.

When creating a new sheet you may find that you have a gap at the top of the sheet. To solve this problem select column A and click sort Ascending, then select the date column (B) and click sort Ascending. This will sort the sites for each person by date and then by address.

I hope this is what you are looking for.
    All the best.
