Pulling data based on date

Hello,

Please see the attached sheet...

What I would like to do (on the summary tab) is have the info on B3:D5 update automatically based on the information on the data tab. Unfortunately I'm at work at the moment and dont have my actual spreadsheet avaiable, but I am currently using SUMIF in each cell, defined by the start and end dates of the month.
This seems quite time consuming as each month i have to change to dates in the SUMIF staement from the relevant month. Is there a way for the summary page to for effectively pull the information from the data tab. I'm thinking maybe changing the format of the dates at the top of each column might help.

The number of months in the summary tab will increase over time, as will the number of entries in the data sheet.

Use a pivot table with a dynamic named range

Create a Pivot table.

The Select all the date in heading for 1st month and right click and Select Group.

The remove the sub group/(Detail) from the pivot
