    What if function

I made a grid of fixtures for a football leauge and then i made a table for the the amount of points each team has but i cant get the points table to automatically update. I want the table to give a team 3 points when they score more goals than the other team. I just cant seem to use the what if function correctly.

using this type of layout will make your life a little complex... see if the attached helps...

on an aside - when loading samples it's best to ensure they're in 97-03 format as not everyone has 2007 as yet.

    Re: What if function

    I'm glad it helped.

FYI, when you save a file you can pick the file format, so you can choose to save as 97-2003 format even if running in 2007 -- doing so will generate the file with the traditional .xls extension. The 2007 file types have better compression etc so files in older formats (binary) will be bigger than the same file saved as a 2007 file, however, for purposes of samples etc the .xls type is preferable.

    Cheers
