    Autocalculation on grouping

    Hi all..

Is there a way to disable autocalculation when gruping rather than calculation set to manual globally ?

I mean I want to keep autocalculation on but don't want excel recalculate all cells when I open or close a group because my file is big and it takes a long time to recalculate.

    Thanks in advance...

    Not easily.

Turning calculation off is not a good idea, as I'm sure you know. But with VBA one can very easily make a toggle button on a worksheet bar to turn it on & off more easily. Would that help?

Well I tought that too and will do it if I won't find another way.

As for the calculation, I want it to be off just when I open and close the grouped rows. For some reason (maybe because of subtotal function even if it is not used) excel always recalculates all data when opening and closing groups which is very frustrating if your worksheet is large.

    Thanks for the idea tough.

Correct... altering visibility of rows / columns is a Volatile action.

So i guess there is no way to make it non-volatile. Which leaves me the only option of turning off the autocalculation globally.

    Thanks for data...
