show Counting criteria with multiple criteria

    Hi there,

I did a search of the forums (i'm a newb here btw) and I think my question kind of first in to this query.

I have a datasheet from BOXI which really unhelpfully lists 4 columns (i'll copy them here as a linked image)

    http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/1199/boximi7.jpg

Basically I was looking to work out how to count the following instances:

    M:M = U AND the adjacent cell in N:N = F (like M3 and N3 in the linked image)

I cannot for the life of me work it out - and I know a pivot table would be best but I'm still too thick to make these (and the people who'll use these are incapable of using pivot tables).

The problem I have is that N:N's "F" means "confirmed", but it confirms any cell, even ones where M:M is "C". So I'm basically looking to segregate "C" AND "F" and "U" AND "F".

Do you get me? Sorry for being confusing. Hope you can help.

    Regards,
    Pete Harris

Pete, you should really have created a new thread rather than jumping on a old resolved one.

Sorry DonkeyOte, using the wrong forum etiquette - on another forum I use we're supposed to search for related threads rather than create new ones. Apologies.

Many thanks for the code, I greatly appreciate it!

    Regards,
    Pete
