    Conditional Formating

I know I have done this before but can't remember how. I want to change the color of the font in one column if another column has a number greater than zero.

Select the cellls you want to change, invoke Conditional Formatting

    Then use something like:

    Formula is >> =$A1>0

where $A1 is cell to compare to and is the top-most cell reference to your selection
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Do I use the first two > as part of the formula? Either way it desn't seem to work. To make sure we are talking about the same thing, if I have a number in column A from zero up and I want the number in column B to change font color if the number in A is greater that zero.

Select the entire range in Column B that you want to highlight....say, B1:B100

    Go to Format|Conditional Formatting

Select Formula is from 1st Drop down

Enter formula: =$A1>0 (where A1 corresponds to the top most cell in column B that you selected, i.e B1).

Then click Format and choose the colouring.

Thanks, that worked. I thought I had been doing that but must have had something wrong.
