Excel: SOLVER - Changes in 2007?

    Hi,

I've started the switch to 2007 and I'm trying my best to not get frustrated with all the unnecessairy changes.

I'm trying to use the Solver tool under DATA and I've found that the new version only allows for "greater than OR EQUAL TO" constraints: "<=" and
">=" but does not contain the "<" or ">" options to enter in as constraints.

Why did they disclude the individual greater than (>) / less than (<) constraints? Is there a fix for this?

    Thanks for your help!
    -Mike

PS: If necessairy I can post a screen shot, but really it's just a lack of constraint variables in the drop down menue so it's fairly straight forward.

Hi, Mike -- I just looked at Excel 2003, and SOLVER has only the >=, <=, =, int, and bin constraints. And I'd guess that since the version of SOLVER included in Excel hasn't changed for many releases, you'll see the same in Excel 2002, 2000, and 97.

I'm posting a screenshot of the "Add constraint" dialog from Excel 2003 -- let me know if I'm missing the gist of your question.
