    conditional formatting for dates

    I am trying to create a workbook and I want to conditionally format dates to show up in different colors thruout the entire workbook. everytime anyone enters the date in 2007, I want it in Blue, 2008 in red, and 2009 in green, but I cant seem to get the conditional format to work...Im not sure how to tell excel to do 2007 dates in blue etc.... Help!

    In Conditional Formatting choose, Formula Is from 1st drop down and use formulas like.

    =Year(A1)=2007 Click Format and choose colour, where A1 is selected cell

    Click Add and repeat.
    Where there is a will there are many ways.
