    Date and time based on shift in cell

    If I use =now() in a cell it will enter the current date and time. For shift workers, this does not work. I'm tring to figure out a formula that will only change the date at 6:00am every day. This way a person working the night shift will not see a change in the date on his sheet at all, only the day worker. Thanks for the help!

    Hi,

    How about this?

    =NOW()-(6/24)
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1

    "Tomorrow I'm going to be famous. All I need is a tennis racket and a hat".

    OK, If in the cell I put in the formula =NOW()-(6/24) and then I will format the cell to only show date and not time.

    What if in another cell I want to put in the shift being "Day's/Night's" based on the date to follow this example.

    At 6:00am the cell would show "Day's" until 6:00pm. At 6:00pm the cell would show "Night's", then at 6:00am the viscous cycle would start again

    Try this

    =IF(AND(HOUR(NOW())>=6,HOUR(NOW())<=17),"Days","Nights")
