How do I recreate several spreadsheets the easy way

    Hi All

I have been asked to recreate 47 new spreadsheets using the existing 47 worksheets that are in place at the moment.

The current spreadsheets that I have got to recreate are all linked. I have been asked to leave the formulae in place, but not include the data in the new spreadsheets.

My question really is how do I recreate new spreadsheets from existing ones without the data?

The current spreadsheets have been created in excel 2003 and I am using excel 2003.

As a newbie to excel, the only way I can think of creating new spreadsheets from old ones and leaving out the data is by clearing all the data from the old ones. The problem with this approach is that it is taking an eternity to clear the old data because the worksheets are huge!

    Please help!

    Many Thanks

First, EDIT your original post (GO ADVANCED) and change the title to something relative to your question, the current title is going to get this thread moderated, so fix that ASAP.

Are the 47 workbooks identical? Just different weeks or months or customer or something like that? If so, you could simply turn on the RECORD MACRO option and let it watch you manually clear the data from the first sheet. Then stop the recorder.

You could then grab that macro and paste it into the next workbook and just run it. First workbook takes a few minutes to do manually, but the rest are done in seconds with the macro you just created. Give it a try.

    Wink Recreating lots of spreadsheets

Thank you very much for you advice.

In answer to your question, the spreadsheets are all different in that they contain different text. I will try what you have suggested.

    Many Thanks
