    dragging formula help

I am trying to drag a formula and have parts of the formula stay the same (refer to the same cell as above cells). I know there is a way to freeze parts of the formula so it doesn't change when you drag it but I can't seem to remember. Please help!

    Hi,

Please note the forum rules re descriptive thread titles. This is to help others who may have similar questions. 'Formula Help' doesn't really offer much information. Please edit the thread title to something more meaningful.

Hi,have a look at relative and absolute references
Putting the $ sign before col or row symbol makes it absolute
    $c$4 won't change while dragging
$c4 will change row numbers not col, etc...
