    Cell Formatting

IS there a way that I can get a cell to hold the value 01 instead of 1. I know that you can change the format so that it appears to display 01 in the sheet but the actual cell still reads 1.

    Hi

Yes but the cell will hold text instead of the numeric value 1 - just format the cell to be text (ie Format>Cells>Number tab and Text category). Now you can type 01 into the cell and the leading zero will be retained.

Wink format cell with leading zero

    Format > Cells > Custom > #00

Type #00 int the edit box to create your format. Cells will be treated as numbers and not text.
