    Formula required - matrix!

    hi,

    Co Co Balance
    1 2 9
    1 3 10
    1 4 10
    2 1 10
    2 3 9

Etc Etc, what formula can I enter to look up Company 1's balance with company 2 etc and return the value?????

See enclosed, i basically want a formula which returns the value of the interco balance with the co code (ie what value does the intercompany (column two) have with the company code (column one))?

    Thanks

    Formula required - matrix!

Your example is complicated by Col_A containing numeric text
    and Col_B containing numbers.

    Try this:
    K1: Comp_1
    L1: Comp_2
    M1: I/C Balance

    K2: (a company code....eg 101)
    L2: (a company code....eg 111)

This ARRAY FORMULA, commited with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER (instead of just ENTER) returns
the I/C Balance for those company codes.

List more company combinations and copy that formula down as far as you need. (see attached workbook)

    Does that help?
