    Auto summarise

I can auto summarise the Detail Data into the Summary Data using a macro that copies the data elsewhere, pastes it, removes the duplicates, then sorts it and finally puts the Account Codes into the summary space.

But I was wondering if there isn't a simpler way of achieving it.

    Any ideas gratefully received.

    Here's two ways:

One a simple lookup, but you have to know your account numbers, which you may already know.

The other is a Pivot Table, once the range is highlighted (without the total), select DATA>PivotTable>Next>Next>ExistingSheet (select a cell)>Finish
..then put the Accounts in the left and the Value in the center "data" section.
