Exclamation Unable to activate the Edit>Paste as Hyperlink command

I am unable to find a way to activate the Edit funtion for Paste as Hyperlink. In all of my new worksheets it is grayed out. I do have one worksheet that allows me to use the Paste as Hyperlink command, so I know how it works. It is easier for me to use it than the insert Hyperlink process. However, the workbook was passed on to me, and I don't know why the command works for this particular one.

    Thank you.

Thank you for the info. It works just as it is supposed to. Is this in the documentation or is it something everyone but me knows?

    Mine is still grayed out!

    Hi,
I have the same problem, but it did not go away with saving the doc. It is not shared or protected either, oh, and the autocorrect is checked for replace with internet hyperlink. I used to be able to just copy/paste links in 2003, but now with 2008, I can't. Example: I want to copy a link like "NM00035", to a spread sheet. I used to just copy this number, which is hyperlinked on the site I get it from, and then paste it into excel (without pasting special or anything) and from then on it would link back to that site (to the point of annoyance sometimes!). I don't want to have to put the whole www.asdflkdnfdfkdkf...com...etc into the sheet, which is still available with cmdK. The paste as hyperlink option (and paste from scrapbook) are grayed out. Anyone???

    Thanks!
