    Defined Names

    Hello,

I have a workbook where I copy a new sheet for each week of the year. The sheet is a copy of the previous. I have defined entire columns with names on the original sheet, the problem is that when I copy the sheet, the name refers back to the previous sheet, ex. 'Sheet1'!$A:$A even though I enter the name as =$A:$A. Is there any way to define this name to update to the current sheet?

    Thank you,
    Chris

Try this; when defining the name intitially (or go back up to Define Name and edit it) type in the sheet name along with the defined name (e.g. Sheet1!Test). When I copied the sheet then, it still came up with the box saying I already had that name in the workbook but I responded Yes and it worked. Let us know if this works for you.

    Sheet Level Range Names

When defining the range name, prepend the sheet name to the range name.
    Example:
    <insert><name><define>
    Names in workbook: Sheet1!MyRangeName
    Refers to: =$A$10:$B$20

    Does that help?
