I opened excel. Selected a cell and entered Q1. I next row, i just dragged the cell upto the value Q10. Its enetering correctly upto Q4. After this its just restarts from Q1 to Q4 instead of Q5 to Q10.
Why its happening like this. Is there any specific reason why excel is behaving like this only for Q. For other value A1,..Z1.its working fine.
Please could any one explain it.

I guess its because excel regards Q1 as quarter 1, Q2 as Quarter 2 etc so its reseting after the fourth quarter.
Excel has some built in list that speed up the autofill process when you drag the fill handle down...e.g. weekdays, months, quarters...
In this case Excel assumes you are entering quarters.. ie. Q1 to Q4 and thinks you want to keep repeating this series...
To avoid that, enter Q1 to Q5 in the the 5 cells, then select those 5 cells and then fill down...
