    Formula 4 ranking by frequency

The actually aim of my whole project is to use google spreadsheet and sproutbuilder to make a dynamic poll. Yes i know google spreadsheet is different then actual excel. But not enough that if this question is answered i can put it to use with google spreadsheet.

I will be generating a list of names.

    mary
    joe
    joe
    mary
    tom
    sarah
    sarah
    bob
    bob
    bob
    bob
    mary
    mary
    sarah
    bob

I need to make a chart that shows bob is the clear winner with 5 votes.
A simple bar graph is fine.

Showing bob 5, ,mary 4, sarah 3, joe 2 and Tom would not be listed cus he only has one vote.

My big difficulty is that this list is dynamic meaning it will change.

I could have a new name listed and as long as it was listed twice meaning two votes i need the chart to change and have his name listed with 2 or more votes along with the others.

I know my dynamic poll is possible i just need this formula. I can make everything else work.

A flash poll with input by typing the name of the person you are voting for. And then seeing the results after submitting.

You could try putting this information into a Pivot Table and then generating a Pivot Chart from that. This way you could define the range of the pivot table to be as large as you like and it would only pull through the data for field which had been populated with names. Then it would be a simple click of the mouse each time you wanted to refresh the Pivot Table/Chart.
