Data import

Hello

when i input data from soccerbase.com
it inputs the score as 01-jan rather than the obvious 1-1 it should be
ive tried formatting the cells but that does nothing
can anyone help?

If you are using Excel 2007, you can use the "DATEVALUE" formula like so:

=DATEVALUE(A1)

... where A1 is the cell reference that contains '01-jan'. It will presume that the year is the current one (2008).

I don't remember if that formula is available in earlier versions of Excel, so you can try it and see what happens...
