How to sort more than 3 columns

    Hi gurus,

I have a huge spreedsheat with literally dozens of columns with many thousands of rows to be sorted.

I was looking here in this website and I found a similar thread. I tried to use the suggested solution (use filter and sort) but since there are many variables, it will be very difficult anyway.

I tried to sort 3 columns and then sort the result again (a sort after another sort) but it changed the order of the first sorting.

Does anybody knows if a newer Excel version will have a future like that? I'm using Excel 2003

    Regards

    Kmare

    Hi Kmare,

There are numerous threads and sites dedicated to how to sort by more than 3 columns in Excel 2003 and prior. Luckily, in Excel 2007 you can sort by up to 64 columns with the built-in functionality, and more if you use some of the same extended methods as needed in Excel 2003.

Pretty much just google for "excel sort more than 3 columns".
