Macro to initiate on a cell's change in value

Three cells - A1:A3. If A1's value is modified, I would like to have some sort of event macro that recognizes the change and thus initiates and clears the values of cells A2 and A3. Basically I don't want to have to user-initiate the macro...but have the actually changing of A1's value initiate the macro.

    Any suggestions?

But Noob's code will only trigger when the user (or other VBA code) changes A1, not if A1 changes as a result of a formula ...

I tried it...but to no avail. Nothing seemed to change or auto-initiate after I modified cell A1's value - not via a formula change..but by physically changing it.

As Shg says it only works if you change cell A1.

Code goes in the sheet module > right click sheet tab > Select view code > paste in the code

PERFECT...I pasted the code in as a Worksheet / Change in error....pasting it where you instructed worked perfectly.

    Thank you.
