How to count the no. of occurrence of certain value if the range is filtered?

Countif can be used to count the no. of occurrence of a certain value within a range. However, if the range is being filtered, can the no. of occurrence be counted?

Hi one, and welcome to the forum.

Prior to posting, did you at least try filtering some data and then using a COUNTIF function to see the answer for yourself?

PS - Yes, COUNTIF counts rows in a range whether or not they're hidden or filtered.

This will count if B1:B10 contains an "X" in a filtered list...won't count hidden "X"'s
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Thanks NBVC.

The formula works although I don't know what does it mean.
