I am using Excel 07 and creating pivot tables from and OLAP source. One of my fields is made up of 5 levels - Vendor/Brand/Family/Group/Product. When placing the field in the row field and making selections, I have the following problem: If a brand has say five families within it, and i select all five families, by some wicked magic, the report defaults to only show the Brand, not all five Families and then the Brand subtotal as in 03. I can double or right click the Brand name to expand the Brand and see the Families. However, if I then go back to the field to add another Vendor, Brand, etc..., when the report recalculates, any Brand that I manually expanded, is collapsed back to the Brand level only. Therefore, having to manually expand each Brand that I need expanded (not all of them so expanding the entire field is not an option) is not practical. Interestingly, if a Brand is made up of five Families, and I only select four of them, the four selected Families are displayed with a Brand subtotal automatically, and continues to show regardless of refreshing data, adding vendors, etc...Is this some new "improvement" for 07 and is there any know way to change this behavior? Thanks for any advice.
