    Unhappy hard calculator

    Hi,
I am having great difficulty, I hope someone can help.

What i need is a formula to work out the cost per kwh in pence.
I have 5.27 kWh/kg as the energy value of wood 100% dry. I need to be able to change the moisture content and the cost per ton of fuel to produce the cost per pence in pence/kWh.

The higher the moisture content the less energy is available, 25% moisture decreases the energy value by 25%. The cost of a kilogarm of 100% dry wood depends on the cost per ton.

What I am try to do is: If someone buys 1 ton of 30% moisture wood for £50 the cost of this can be shown in pence kW/h, so this can be compared against oil or gas.

    Regards

I have tried that formula an cant get it to work. I Did the sums with a calulator where the fuel is £50 ton and 25% moisture I get 1.19p / kwh. Maybe my initial sums are incorect!
