Need to update my cumulative plot - new values, columns - without affecting data

...and its turning out in the opposite direction it should!

I am trying to make a couple of plots, but they are not looking like some examples I have.

In the attachment is my data. I need to make 2 plots (though once it I figure out how to to do the first one I should be ok).

Plot 1: Resource Grade (log scale) against the proportion of deposits (linear scale)

Plot 2:Tonnage (log scale) against proportion of deposits (linear scale)

They are meant to cumulative proportion plots. As a line or scattergram. An example of what they are meant to look like is at: http://www.nbmg.unr.edu/dox/ofr962/c11.pdf on Page 4 and 5.

My main problem is that my curve always turns out in the opposite direction to those above. I use Data Analysis > Rank and Percentile to get the cumulative list. (Not sure if that is even the right method)

"Proportion of deposits" is supposed to be a cumulative percentage, so I guess i need know how many of the same number there are, and find out their proportion to the overall.

e.g . all the deposits together = 100%....3 deposits have a tonnage = to 1.5 t which together represents 2% of the total deposits tonnages at a cumulative proportion rate of 12.9% (f I add all the ones below it). I just did that my calculation, though im sure there is an easier way in excel....and thats what im trying to do, and make a plot of them.

Anyone have any idea....or am i even confusing myself?

Btw the way im new....so hello! And....I have posted on another forum for help, as its 4.30am, and this assignment is due in 3 and half hours...aha...

Anyone any idea? I think I have the plots....but the graph line isnt smooth, despite me clicking "smooth line" in the graph options...its still jagged. How do I get a line that is smootth throughout, gives an average rise...etc?

Hmmm...so basically i need to make the lognormal plot curve fitted to the mean and variance of the data....

    Anyone?

Hi again shg, (or anyone else that can help).....

I realise I need to add more values under the grade and tonnage lists, but when I do it creates an error.

How do I get around this as under the further right Grade list and Fit list, and loses the smooth line on the graph.

I am though able to add more data under Tonnage and its all good.

    Hi guys,

Not sure if shg will be on today, but could someone have a look at the file he attached in his post to me.

It is exactly as I wanted, but I am now unsure how to add new data without affecting the whole plot. It gives me errors when I add new data.

If anyone could give me pointers it would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Need to update my cumulative plot - new values, columns - without affecting data

    Hi again,

I need to update the file that "shg" created for me, but I am having trouble adding new values and columns, without effecting the rest.

Ive attached the new file with updated values and 2 new columns for date and resource.

The file attached to shg above (Macca) is reference to what I need to do, with the smooth log normal line in the plot. I need 2 plots
    i) One for grade (log scale) vs proportion of deposits (linear scale)
ii) tonnage (log scale) vs proportion of deposits

I tried to update shg's Macca file that was sent, but am having no luck, as the plot effected and values lost.

If anyone else can help, proportion of deposits is explained in the first post here.

If anyone could help it would be appreciated.
