I have an excel file I created on my companies network drive. I have other employees open this spreadsheet and fill in information. When they try to save the file they get a message that's it's a read only file. I do not have read only checked on this file. Here's a screen shot of the message.

I'd recommend checking with your network or server administrator to see if you do in fact have the necessary permissions to delete/modify in the shared network drive, and if so, have them check to see if there is a lock on the file from another user. Perhaps another user had it opened, Excel crashed and the lock wasn't released properly.
