    Count function on seperate tables

I have homework and I need to be able to do this next part to be able to finish the rest of it...

Ok so there are 2 tables, one has the results from the 2008 US Tennis Open, the second if a blank one where I'm supposed to put player stats.

    Here is the problem/question...
    1. In the Player Statistics worksheet's D7 column, count the number of wins for Rafael Nadal from L column in the Results worksheet.

Now I can see that Rafael Nadal is listed as the winner 3 times. Unfortunately I need the formula to get points. This is the formula I have now: =COUNTIF(Results!L:L, L7) which displays Nadal as having 0 wins which is obviously incorrect.

If you wanna see the tables go here...

    https://agora.cs.uiuc.edu/display/cs105/MP3

Then you'd download the mp3.xls which will have the data sheets to give you a better picture. Your results won't be filled out, since I had to do that myself, but you may be able to get the gist. Basically I need to have a formula count how many times Rafael Nadal shows up in the L column in the results table and then put that in the Number of Wins column in the Player Stats table. The formula should be able to be used as a fill statement so it can fill in everyone.

    Should it be?

    =COUNTIF(Results!L:L, D7)

    Where D7 contains name "Nadal"
