populate checkboxes in one sheet based on another sheet

I have a spreadsheet (Sheet A) with various data and checkboxes that I want to populate based on data in another spreadsheet (Sheet B). Sheet B has various fields with yes/no answers in the cells. I need to take this data and check varius check boxes in Sheet A based on the answers. I think this is possible if I write a macro to sweep through Sheet A to populate everything, but I was wondering if there is an easier way?

I would think there would be a way to set the initial state of a checkbox based on the value of a cell, but I can't seem to find a way to do it.

    Any suggestions?

If would really help to see your workbook and how you have everything arranged. Please post back and attach your workbook for review.

    Leith,

I don't have the forms built yet because if I can't figure this out, I don't want to sink a bunch of time into it. I did create a couple of sheets to illustrate.

The setup sheet is the form I need to fill out (using vlookup tied to the proj #). I know how to populate the text, it is the checkboxes I am not sure about. The data to fill the setup sheet comes from the tracking workbook.

I currently use vlookup and the proj # as a key to look up all the information for the setup sheet, but I am not sure if this is possible with the checkboxes. Is there a way to do this without writing a macro or will I have to write a macro to sweep through the setup sheet and modify the checkboxes based on data pulled from the tracking workbook?

    Hello ryanbirk,

I updated your workbooks to look up the information in the Tracking workbook and fill in the form automatically when the project number is entered into SetupForm. There is no VBA in this. There are notes on the worksheets to explain what is happening.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
