Pivot table issue (doesn't come out as planned)

I知 doing a simple pivot table and I知 having a problem with layout:
I have 3 items that I知 working with:

Date
Debit
Credit

When I知 done it looks like this:

DATE Data Total
8/31/2008 Sum of Debit 736957.94
Sum of Credit 52090
9/1/2008 Sum of Debit 1024098.06
Sum of Credit 65754.65
9/2/2008 Sum of Debit 2410519.64
Sum of Credit 344438.31

It should look like this:

Data
DATE Sum of Debit Sum of Credit
8/31/2008 736957.94 52090
9/1/2008 1024098.06 65754.65
9/2/2008 2410519.64 344438.31



I know I can move it once I'm done but I need it to come out as the right away as the last example.

What am I doing wrong ?
