Hi,
I'm new so if I make mistakes be kind. I am using Excel 2000.
I have a list of 12,000 Karaoke songs that I imported into Excel. Column A has Artist, Column B has Title. Column A (Artist) has quite a few entries that have a leading space. Also there are quite a few duplicates. What I would like to do is eliminate the duplicates. Eliminate the leading spaces in Column A and alphabetize by Column A (Artist) then print out the results 2 Colums to a page.
After that I would like to do the same for Column B (Title).
1. How do I trim off the leading spaces ? Do I have to set up a new column with the formula Trim(xx) ?
2. How would I eliminate duplicates. It would have to be duplicates of both Title & Artist. I wouldn't want to eliminate a song with the Same Title if the Artist was different.
3. Alphabetize ? How do I highlight the cells and sort ?
4. Printing ? Can I do 2 columns in Excel or do I export it into Word ? How is the easiest way ? Once the first report is done with the Artist First how would I do the second report so that the Title is first.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I would probably have to read through every book I have on Excel and still might not figure it out.
Thank you,
John
