    Auto change "1" into "$1,000"

Hi, does anyone know how to format a cell so that when I type in a number it will automatically change that number into $X,000? So if I type 25 the cell will show $25,000. I'm spending hours just pressing 000 to make these figures into thousands and wonder if there's a simple auto format? Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.

You can format the cells as $#,##0",000". It will not change the underlying representation.
