Q on Column Count Operation

Hello everyone

I have a question
I have a worksheet that has numeral values in column e,f,g,h,i,j to row 100 to 400 with data inserted in almost every other row.
I need to find a way to get a count off these rows and have then placed below selected in a total value.
Can anyone tell me where I begin? I have MS Excel 2002 and Ive browsed around the program to get myself familiar with the operations it can do but I could not locate the proper function to get what I need done. Im still fairly new to excel and would greatly appreciate any advice or refer me to a tutorial.

The COUNTA Function counts non empty cells in a range

thankyou royUK for your reply, I tried countA function and it only added the total amount of boxes with data in the worksheet, It didnt add the grand total of the data such as 1+2=3 etc. Any other suggestion would be appreciated.

try press F1, then type what you need.
