Hi, I'm looking for some help that could seriously save me some time here (I'm currently pulling my hair out),
We have a data logger that creates CSV files of our data. Currently, I use the "Import External Data" function in Excel to get the data in the CSV file into Excel 2003.
After that, I cut and paste the data into new file that I've opened using our own custom XLT Template, which draws lots of lovely graphs in our standard format.
I currently have 100s of these files to convert. It is a laborious job to say the least - my ULTIMATE solution would be for the data logger to save the CSV file as some custom extension (eg XLC) and when I double click this file, Excel automatically knows to load it into the format defined by the XLT template.
Maybe a more realistic alternative is to 'teach' the data logger to save the data with all the formatting and coding required to mimic the resulting XLS file after the template has been applied.
Any suggestions gratefully welcomed.
Regards,
Stuart.
