Excel Query

I have an excel sheet with about 22000 companies listed on it with about five or six columns containing various balance sheet data. Could anyone help me get started on writing a macro which could pull in certain companies that fit certain criteria? For example, I would tell it to pull in any companies with <300MM in assets, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why not use the filter option in excel?

Data>Filter>Autofilter

click the dropdown menu and select custom and designate what you would like to see

I thought about that, but I would like to have the database in a separate sheet, and use another to bring in the data.

Microsoft Query can do that.

In Excel 2003 - Data - Import External Data - New Database Query.
