    Convert Works 8.xlr to Excel 2003 problem

    Hi

    I am trying to convert a Works 8 .xlr file to Excel.
    I am using Excel 2003. this the way i am going about it;
    Open .xlr, file/save as/ save as type Excel 97-2000(*.xls) (this one is the latest option).
    When i open the .xls file i get an error message ; File error: data may have been lost.
    I click OK, and the file opens with all the correct details (as far as i can tell), but the currency sign's have been changed to $ (Dollars), and they should be £ (Sterling). All the numbers in the cells are correct.

    I know i can select all the relevant cells and format the currency to £ , but i have hundreds of these files to do. Is there a more efficient way of achieving my objective.

    There is also a little green triangle at the top left of each numbered cell, which tells me that : this cell contains a formula and is not locked to protect it from being changed inadvertently.

    Could somebody help me with this please.

    Thanks

    Hi martindwilson

    Thanks for the reply.

    Yes they are. In fact, i have already tried to do the same on another computer with Excel 2007, and get the same error.
    Can you think of anything else.

    Thanks
