    Spreadsheet issue (formula related?)

    Hi,

First post and it's about a problem.

When I copy a formula (a very simple formula) from one cell to the next, the referrence changes to the next column (as expected) but the value it returns is the same as per the orginating cells. Conversely, if I build the formula which is as simple as "= C10+C14+C15" in returns 0 instead of the correct value.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

Welcome to the forum, try using the $ sign

    = $C$10+$C$14+$C$15

sure, but I actually want the formula to shift it's referrence points and it appears to do so, but the value it returns is from the orginal cell, which I know to be incorrect

    Hi

Do you perhaps have Manual calculation (rather than Automatic) turned on? Check via Tools>Options>Calculation tab.

Can you post a sample of your sheet?

To post a zipped example, go to “My Documents” or wherever you have your file stored, right-click and “Send to > Compressed file”, then attach this zipped file to your post.
