    Row adding problem!

Hi to all, well as you can see Im new here but not new to Excel. Its been a long time since Ive used Excel for doing documents, but I find my self in need of doing so again. So what I want to do is this:

Lets say I have a table in Excel with 4 cols and 4 rows. Now, Ive done some calculations with that 4 X 4 table, but then I have to add more Rows to that table, how can I make the calculations so that no matter how many rows I add I still get the correct results, the number of cols is always the same. Also the resultas are mainly sums of the columns and +, *. Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Welcome to the forum, if you are summing the columns at the bottom of the table, leave one blank row before the total sum, but include it in the function. For example if you have data in rows 1-4, put =SUM(A1:A5) in row 6, then if you insert extra rows after row 4, all new rows are included in the total

    Thank you for your reply,

    edit:

Ok I think Ive solve that problem, now I dont think this can be possible but ill ask anyway. I put a formula in the first cell of col 5 and then drag that formula down, which will make the formula to repeat with the values from the corresponding row. Now If I want that procces to be automatic so if I add a new row of values excel automaitcally drags the formula down, can that be done???

    Hi,

Yes it is possible, but you will need a macro to do that - I'm afraid not my expertise, sorry
