fill function problem

Hello everyone,

I can no longer fill a range of data by clicking and dragging diagonally on the lower right hand corner of a cell. Excel only allows that I can fill horizontally and vertically. I believe I may have inadvertently entered a key command. Any way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

i cant auto fill that way nor can anyone in my office and we have excel 97,2003. are you sure you could before? you can hilight/select a region that way but i dont think you can auto fill

I think I should clarify. Previously, I could autofill an area of say, A1:E1:E20:A20, if there was a formula or data point in A1, by clicking and dragging the lower right hand corner of A1 out to E20. I haven't had this issue before, and i work with alot of data daily.
