    Formula to convert a measurement!

Just the job my man, thanks on the last one, I dodnt get what you meant about changing the heading, sorry.

Second question for you - I have two columns, the first one is a measurement in inches, the second one has the formula =G3*25.4 which then converts the measurement into millimetres. What formula would I put in the cells if I wanted to either enter an amount in the inches column which is then converted to millimetres in the next column or alternatively I sometimes may want to enter the measurement in millimetres in the appropriate column and the inches column then be calculated into inches.

How would one know if the entry is in millimetres or inches?
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Is this it!

Cell A7 is the cell for entering the required Inches

Cell B7 is the cell for entering the required mm

Enter the following formula in cell C7 to get the resultant formula.

    =(IF(A7>0,A7*25.4,(IF(B7>0,B7*0.03936996,""))))

Place labels in the cell above each. just copy into your spreadsheet and change the references for A7 and B7 to suit

I guess you answered your own question.
except you can loose some of the parentheses...

    =IF(A7>0,A7*25.4,IF(B7>0,B7*0.03936996,""))
