    Learning Excel

Hey guys, Im glad to have found a forum like this, it looks absolutely monsterous with a huge amount of valuable info.

I booted up excel for the first time yesterday, and it looks as cool as ive heard it described to be So I thought one of the first things I'd do here was ask the users who have gone through this process before to point me to a good set of resources for starting to learn excel. Im computer savvy enough to comprehend the absolute basics of using the program, but a little push in the right direction would be great.

I assume ill mainly be using excel for mathematical formulas/calculations so thats where ill jump to once I understand excel a little better.

I would really like to know a good progression for learning excel and a good set of starting resources (preferably online...?)

If anyone could take the time to respond, it would make my day.

    Thanks Again -GK

I love the vast amount of links, but the only thing I know about them is what the header for the group tells me, should I just click on the first link and go from there?

I would really like to be able to study this in a logical progression, so I dont have to re-read the same info on multiple pages, or learn about bits and peices at a time.

perhaps theres a good starting link in there you could suggest?

    Thanks for the response -GK

    There a lot to excel.

For example this link has a lot on the individual excel functions
    http://www.xlfdic.com/

Then you've got Macro's which is more advance but great for repetitive tasks.

For general excel I would suggest these sites
    http://www.contextures.com/tiptech.html
    http://www.bettersolutions.com/excel.aspx

Contextures have started using video examples. This site is also useful
    http://www.datapigtechnologies.com/ExcelMain.htm

Best way to learn is keep reading threads to pick up tips and ideas. Also John Walkenbach book come with a CD with loads of examples.

Just jump right in would be my advise
