Create a "Week" Column - automatic?

    Hi,

I want to create a row for each of the 52 weeks in a year. I want the weeks to begin and end on thursdays. Is there a way to automate this so that I do not have to maunally enter in each week? I need to do this for 2008 and 2009.

    For example

    7/31/08 - 8/7/08
    8/7/08 - 8/14/08
    8/14/08 - 8/21/08
    etc....

Create a "Week" Column - automatic?

    Perhaps something like this....

    With
    A1: (any date)
    and
    Weeks are Thursday through Wednesday...

This formula returns the Thursday date of the week containing that date:

and this formula returns the Thursday date of the subsequent week:

Copy that formula down as far as you need.

    Example:
    A1: 01-JAN-2008 (Tuesday)
    Calculated dates:
    A2: 27-DEC-2007 (Thursday)
    A3: 03-JAN-2008 (Thursday)

Is that something you can work with?

    Thanks Ron!

    Here is what I did:

Columns: Week (1-52) Week Start Date, Week End Date

For Start/End Date I used your A2+7 formula and filled down all the way through end of 2009.

I know my question was really elementary compared to others, but I really appreciate the help!
